How to document and evaluate a NODE.London event
From NodelWiki
[edit] Why document and evaluate events?
In unfunded mode, one of the useful and fun things that NODE.London can do is to help document the events that are promoted through NODE.London - and at the same time to gather information about how effective NODE.London is at cross-promoting and supporting those events.
Also, one of the 'gaps in the market' at most events and for many projects is some kind of feedback - lots of exhibitions get scant media attention and therefore disappear. This is a way of collaborating on making sure that there is at least some trace of each event.
It's more fun to do this by asking people questions than by providing them with feedback forms, although that could be done too if necessary.
[edit] Proposed documentation protocol
- Sign up to document and evaluate events that don't yet have documentation volunteers
- Take voice and/or video recordings of people at events and during exhibitions/events
- Get people to sign consent forms to say that they're happy with their video going online
- Take photos and upload them to flickr into a NODE.London group.
- Tag all your photos on flickr with a NODE.London tag
- upload all videos to Archive.org and/or pad.ma or whatever and tag them NODE.London
- If you are considering uploading videos it would be great if you can use Archive.org as well as your preferred server.
- This page explains how to do it and This page explains how to encode a video into mp4
- write up the event and add to a blog, your own, or ones which have been suggested like a dog barks [1] and interventTech.net [2]
[edit] Questions
It's useful to have some questions that remain constant - and so can be used for evaluation purposes.
- Is it your first time visiting such an event?
- How did you hear about this event and NODE.London?
- Have you attended other NODE.London events?
- Would you go to something similar again?
- what do you think about the event?
Please print out and use at your events!!
Keep safe and either type up answers and/or give originals to Julie / Keith / Saul at next few meetings
thankyou
