Attendance:

  • Keith Watson
  • James Stevens
  • Adnan Hadzi
  • Laura Henry

Documentation

2000 pounds from LCACE for print on demand.

  • £500 for print
  • £500 for design for Jonas Andersson
  • £1000 pounds to be decided

(call to the list on how to spend it?). how should we do it with the call - will somehow write this down?

The publication will have 108 pages Keith - to list all the pages on the wiki with approximate word count, so that each organisation taking part in this season will get a number of pages each, (should we allow others to also add info? Should we commission a writer?). Text and Image (black and white) quality is not great for photographs but has a photocopied look to it.

Action - Everyone needs to begin thinking about what they would like to add in to the book. If there are remaining pages after this we can have an 'open call'

Jonas Andersson is the designer behind 'Converge:Online Video'. Suggest sticking with Jonas for our Nodel publication, as he is already on his 5th + books and knows his stuff, he will proof read and edit etc.

Continuing actions:

  • ace application for drupal system should go out asap, as this is needed to get a more efficient organising but also distribution &

involvement structure - lisa haskel & andy forbes are talking with each other on this one (saul, theps, greenman, etc. to be updated on progress if funding comes through) Keith/Saul/Isa to meet up ASAP to refine application

  • Documentation: continue to upload footage to archive.org and link all documentation sites (flickr etc) to the wiki

Julie cn you look at this?

Future Seasons / Fundraising

  • next nodel. Adnan suggests we should keep the spring format for now, as we will else burn out. it leaves us also good amount of time to fundraise. and when the drupal system is up and running node can so to say stretch & get longer until it might even reach the duration of the whole year.
  • Talk of appying to an audio visual festival - Keith suggests a European fund that we could apply to by the end of April for a festival in March?

Adnan - - media funding: so when you left I had my short chat with miriam, who said the following about the media application: miriam.simkova: important for your application is your profile how many films you are screening. miriam.simkova: how many of them are european production, how many of them are from the countries from low-production capacity, which means countries apart from Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain miriam.simkova: the last thing is how important your festival is for further distribution of the screened films

basically miriam told me that she likes the page very much, she looked at http://nodel.org & that it is a great festival. she thinks that we can try it, but it is fairly new for media to do this kind of festivals. on the other hand that media asked me to evaluate the applications (i hope that there will not be a conflict of interest) shows that they are interested in going into this direction (so not film in the classical sense, but audio/visual "stuff")
