minutes: Held at Whitechapel Art Gallery.
Attended: David Upton Leanne Bird Julie Freeman Manjit Bedi Saul (by skype)
Keith: a schedule of activities are required in the run up to next years festival.
Keith: funding needs to be addressed
Saul: explained about an idea for fundraising, via a leaflet of vouchers, which is sold for £10, with Node receiving £1 from every sale.
Julie: People could also buy time of designers / programmers. Or it could be a sort of credit card system, with Nodel taking a percentage.
Saul: mentioned a Hugh Bernard electronic cash system.
Julie: Open ID / open coin system, Julie to investigate.
Julie: We need media partners, such as Frieze.
Keith. London Paper etc. support many art projects with publicity.
Leanne: We need a media strategy.
We all discussed the marketing budget and agreed we need to define what the budget is spent on, with the website and next years festival.
Julie: We should do a Google survey to old members on the website & mailing lists (KW to look into this)
Manjit: Everyone needs to update details on website
Saul: Possibly, shutdown mailing list, pay someone to post to website, we could automate some of the process.
Julie: we need a 'report this post' link on the website to identify infringement postings
Saul: He will look at migrating mailing list to website.
Leanne: it would be good to have feedback from last season.
David: The readers are good, we need to make sure there is another.
Saul: Identify events, & then do something for Nodel Next year there is already the , Sustainable Conference, Social Network World Forum, emerging themes,
David: What if they were in next the next season, plus , place like Watermans, and two other galleries as central 'nodes'
Callout: what are you doing in march 2010? Shared marketing.
We could have four major venues, discussion Board, open-process meetings, such as previously at BDS, Slades recent conference / workshop.
Julie: suggested, 'The Biggest Residency in the World' exchange of artworks, events, meetings. Websites hosting artists.
Also Mentoring: talk to Stockholm and other 'Nodes'.
David: Also the education angle is a major area
