Talk:NODE.London FAQ
From NodelWiki
This page is confusing - it needs to be clarified and weeded before putting online.
[edit] What is NODE.London?
I think it is a group of people that want to create a progressive resource/directory that will assist creative activities in the community.
[edit] What are NODE.London's aims?
- Short term?
experimental project
- long term?
Benefit people who put in effort while benefitting the creative community (everyone).
What services do people want/need? (USP) 1. database of events that are going on locally/globally 2. Online personal calendar?
[edit] Who is NODE.London's audience?
YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS
[edit] What processes definitely didn't work last time?
[edit] What processes were successful that we can adopt?
[edit] How can we help prevent the organisational aspects of node overshadowing it's effectiveness and outputs?
We probably need to address the hard issues such as.. 1. How to make decisions as a group in effective ways. 2. Find ways to achieve everyones individual goals. 3. Create way to make the organisation appealing to new users who want to dip in and out when they like.
[edit] What are the "immutables"?
NODE.London's first year was funded by Arts Council England, who lay out certain terms for how their money was to be spent. While NODE.London aspired to be as open to mutability as possible, these were the limits. Details of these immutables from 2006 and their rationale can be found in this archived document from 2006. As of 2007, there are not yet any immutables.
I think this is in debate still. Personally I think that they should allow everyone to contribute in any way they want enabling the organisation to develop-flow-fail-learn as people experiment with it.
